For the last 30 odd years my brothers and I have made jokes about who is our Mom’s favourite, and why. (*Disclaimer-if you ask my Mom she’ll say she has no favourites, but, come on??) Lately, with our family living abroad, I have been lacking in my ability to bide the ‘favourite’ position- I’m often missing birthdays, Mother’s Day and the regular family dinners.

But with my Mom visiting us in Indonesia, I heard opportunity knocking and I knew I was going to regain my place as favourite. I’d show my siblings how it’s done-Indonesian style.

First, we checked ourselves into The Sheraton Senggigi in Lombok and I led my Mom into two days of tranquility.

We parked ourselves here and soaked up the early morning views before the sun got too hot.

We relaxed in the amazing pools from sun up to sun down.

My daughters LOVED this slide. Happy grand-daughters, happy grandma, right!?

And there was a perfect spot for her to watch my girls splashing away in the kiddie pool.

In fact, we bounced from the beach to the pool all day long.

But my Mom’s favourite place to lounge was shaded from the sun, in our very own beach hut.

I don’t know about you, but quality time, surrounded by tranquility and pampering MUST have put me as the front runner in Mom’s favourite books for awhile.

I’d like to see my brother’s top THAT weekend! 😉
