As I sit here in my living room on the West Coast of Africa, I can easily say that I’m a long way from ‘home’.
Home has been a lot of places for me over the years, but no matter how many continents I’ve lived on with my family, I’ll always call Canada home. More specifically—Thunder Bay, Ontario. It’s where I was born, grew up, went to university, and it’s where my heart feels happy when I go back to visit.
Even though my husband and kids have never lived there, we all love going to Thunder Bay.
When I started writing the children’s book series, ‘The Kids Who Travel the World’ we lived in France. Paris felt like a natural place for me to start writing, and the first book of the series was born. It was followed by Rome, the capital city of my favourite country in the world. There were dozens of countries I could choose next, because the characters in the book are based on my own kids, and with 30 countries under their belts already, they really do travel the world.
But I wanted to write about Canada this time, and I wanted to start at home.
Join the my globetrotting kids on their next adventure to beautiful Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. You’ll see the Sleeping Giant, explore Lake Superior, learn about Terry Fox, eat pancakes at The Hoito and find out where the best view of Thunder Bay is.
Get yours HERE while the persians are hot! (If that sentence doesn’t make sense to you, you’ll have to read the book to find out what I’m talking about!)
Happy reading and I hope you enjoy Thunder Bay as much as we do!
Congratulations on your book release!
