Why would someone ever write under a pen name?
It’s a bit weird, no?
Well, upon further reflection, if a person did it in a lassez faire kinda way, with a humorous inside connection to the pen name, there could be a few reasons.
Maybe the author didn’t want their kids to have a direct line between their mother and certain pieces of prose. Perhaps they have other literary work that they want to keep separate from a slightly risqué topic. Or you never know; they could work for a religious-based organization, like a school, and have a certain expectation to uphold as a leader in the community.
Whatever the case may be….I’d like to introduce you to this new book that I will NOT be reading to my kids. It’s very different than your average children’s book; because it’s NOT actually for kids. It’s for adults. And it is written by “Marie Gannon”. Hmm… she sounds fun!
Mommy’s Big Night Out tells the story of what it’s like when you have one too many glasses of Chardonnay at Ladies Night and you still have to get up and be a parent bright and early the next morning.
With Christmas right around the corner, this book is the perfect hostess gift for your girlfriends who have kids, but haven’t forgot how to have fun. Buy it for the queen of your playgroup, gift it to your Secret Santa, slip it under the table to the girl with the great sense of humour at the PTA meeting. Fill your Amazon basket ladies; everyone in your tribe needs one in their shocking!
It’s good for a laugh, I promise!
But don’t take my word for it.
